The 18th Annual Will Rogers Awards!
Nominations are open for the 18th Annual Academy of Western Artists Awards.
The 18th Annual Will Rogers Western Awards will be held March 29, 2014 in the Grand Ballroom at the Sheraton Hotel, Irving, Texas.
This year's awards and banquet will be $75 per person.
Tables will be available for seating 8 at $650 per table.
If you would like to perform at the Awards, please submit a resume, members will receive the first priority, but open to all. In addition to the actual show itself, there will be a one and one half hour showcase during the meal and also after the awards.
Every year, the AWA may add or delete categories depending on nominations.
As always, the AWA welcomes nominations from all sources including members and non members however, there will be a few changes this year.
All members are eligible to nominate in those categories which relate for no charge.
If you are not an AWA member, entries require a $25 service charge.
All awards are determined by blind juries related to their areas.
Categories receiving 10 or less entries will be carried over to the following year.
The AWA is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization.
The following categories are now open for entries.

For Male-Female-Duo/Group/Instrumentalist-Yodeler and Young Artist, there is no CD required.
Only the music category winners will be announced March 29, 2014, all other categories will be notifed earlier.

ELMER KELTON BOOK AWARD

The Academy of Western Artists is proud to announce the First Annual Elmer Kelton Western Book Awards. There will be two categories: Fiction and Non Fiction for books either cowboy or western in nature.
Each nomination will require a $25 service charge. We will need 4 copies of the book sent to AWA C/O Elmer Kelton Book, P O Box 35, Gene Autry, OK 73436
If not enough books are received, books will be carried over for the next awards and selections will be done by blind jury.
Electronic books are acceptable. You can submit a copyrighted western novel paper, hard back or ebook in manuscript form, first edition, copyright date, determines if qualified. Books have to be first edition, released from Jan. 1, 2012-May 1, 2013. Books must be received by August 1, 2013 in order to qualify.
